One Foden C Type Steam Lorry. Built in 2000 by prolific Model Engineer Barry Kefford.
4 1/2 inch scale.
2 side water tanks.
1 additional 10 gallon tank.
Solid rubber tyres. Used on tarmac only since built.
Complete with passenger trailer useful for storing additonal coal and personal possessions.
Road registered and taxed.
Current boiler test certificates.
Commercially built Steel boiler re-tubed 2 years ago.
In excellent working condition and paint work to a high standard.
Not built from a Kit.
Steamed approximately 4 times a year. Viewings welcome; Steamings for serious parties only.
Description
In 1922 Foden began producing the popular C-type steam lorry with it’s successful overtype double crank compound drive setup. It was not a revolutionary design, but carried improvements such as a better driving position which gave this version edge over it’s competitors. Phased out by the impending popularity of the diesel lorry, many have survived in preservation after serving long lives in various industries.
