7 1/4 Petrol Hydraulic 0-6-0 Greatrex Loco
A heavy duty and powerful 0-6-0 Petrol Hydraulic locomotive built by Knightley Light Railway (Roger Greatrex) in 1991. Fitted with a 8.5hp Honda Engine, with the popular Eaton 7 Hydraulic transmission unit fitted for the drive. The loco is one of only two that were built by KLR with fly-cranks which many would consider a nice feature. There is an additional tender, fitted with a leather upholstered bucket seat (it’s far too comfy) and side door. There is a Stuart Turner air pump fitted for the Air brakes to the tender and the train. The paintwork is all in good order and in addition a screw down parking brake has also been fitted. After spending some time over in Northern Ireland this loco has been on a private railway over the last ten years and has seen little use apart from regular ticking over for servicing. There is also a brand new battery fitted to power the lights, horn and electric start. These engines have proven very popular with commercial railways up and down the country so would be an ideal purchase for such use.
