7 1/4” gauge 0-6-0 Harland & Wolff shunter
£2,995.00
This is a fascinating prototype of a Harland & Wolfe build 0-6-0 diesel shunter famously associated with the Belfast docks and general Northern Counties Committee Railway of the North of Ireland.
The model is very well put together – with fine detail steel platework for the body. The handrails, grills and footsteps (one set of footsteps is loose) are well modelled. The headlamps are wired in too, though one too is loose.
The locomotive is 24v battery operated with a single motor drive to a lay shaft. The batteries charge up OK but we don’t know how old there, assume they are on borrowed time.
The control system is Mtroniks with a handset. The handset is currently missing its dead man’s safety decide which is required to complete the handset circuit.
There is a charger that can go with the locomotive.
It is similar in scale and appearance of the ubiquitous BR class 08 shunter and would make a quirky and, in our view, more interesting alternative to run at the local club track.
