7 1/4″ GER Y6 Tram

A really beautiful model of the famous Wisbech & Upwell Tramway locomotive with finescale details and a lovely paint finish. The body is of rigid plywood construction with a heavy duty steel chassis.

Battery operated (24V) 4 wheeled loco with Parkside controller & handset.
2x 360 watt CM branded motors giving 700 watt power in total
Powered by 2x 12V batteries in series to give 24V output.

Finescale details include: Cowcatchers; Footsteps; Scale hook & safety chains; Lamp brackets; Works plate; Chimney & stack; Condensing gear; Windows; and a nicely made Bell.

Small but surprisingly powerful; ideal for anybody that is restricted to moving models around in smaller vehicles. The model would pull heavy loads all day long providing the batteries give enough AH. 75s are currently fitted.

There are some minor chips to the rear buffers (presumably a result of the previous owner has strapped the loco down for transport) though these could be easily touched in.

Description

T.W. Worsdell designed these distinctive 0-4-0 steam tram locomotives for the Wisbech & Upwell Tramway, which opened in July 1883. Due to much of this line running on public highways, the Board of Trade required all locomotives to be fitted with cowcatchers, steel side aprons, a governor, and warning bell. All unusual for a British steam engine!
